Under the direction of the Principal and the Director of Equity and School Improvement, the School Improvement Team Member will: Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate with the building administrative team, teachers, and Central Office personnel to ensure compliance with Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements for designated schools. Actively participate in fostering distributive leadership within the school, empowering colleagues to engage in shared decision-making. Professional Development: Lead and facilitate professional development sessions aligned with the school’s improvement plan and district curriculum. Develop, coordinate, and implement school-based professional development opportunities that support student growth and instructional improvement. Data Analysis and Planning: Analyze school performance data to identify trends, measure student growth, and develop actionable strategies for improvement. Assist in the development and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan to address areas of need and prioritize student success. Solutions-Oriented Mindset: Approach challenges with a positive attitude and a commitment to finding practical, actionable solutions that support school improvement goals. Foster a culture of innovation and openness to change among staff members. Communication and Support: Serve as a liaison between teachers, administrators, and Central Office personnel to ensure clear and effective communication. Act as a resource for staff regarding instructional practices supportive of school goals and curriculum and district improvement initiatives, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Provide guidance to staff regarding ISBE or school improvement requirements and deadlines. Team Participation: Attend all scheduled School Improvement Team and district school improvement meetings led by building or district administration. The expected amount of hours of meeting time or work completion per month will be 4-6. Actively contribute to discussions, planning, and the execution of initiatives aimed at achieving school improvement goals. ISBE Compliance: Ensure all school improvement initiatives and practices align with ISBE requirements and deadlines.Designated Schools Maintain up-to-date knowledge of school improvement expectations.
