About The Position

2026-2027 School Year Summary/Objective To administer and deliver health services to each student and create a climate of health and well-being on the assigned campus. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Responds to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner Sets up student health records and emergency cards Reviews all student records for any health needs Orders and maintains school health and first aid supplies Organizes and helps with all screening programs for vision, hearing, scoliosis, lice checks, and immunizations Prepares re-screen lists Records and updates individual student records on screenings, immunizations, etc. Administers daily prescription and over-the-counter medications to students in accordance with school board policy under the supervision of the school administrator and maintains accurate records of medication given Maintains daily log of all students seen in the health office Completes accident reports clearly and concisely for all accidents Supervises enrollment of students with regard to proper immunization history Screens all new students for vision, hearing, and immunization history Administers first aid as needed Duplicates and distributes educational and instructional materials on health Provides hygiene-related demonstrations and services in the classroom as needed Notifies principal in any and all emergencies Notifies principal of any situation that might be considered child abuse or neglect Compiles periodic and year-end reports for state and district Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations, and rules Performs related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner Other Duties This job description is not a comprehensive listing of duties, responsibilities, or activities that are required of the employee for this job. Work Environment This job operates in the school setting. Regularly required to see, talk and hear Regularly required to sit and be mobile Regularly run, stoop and kneel Regularly lift, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds Use specific vision including, close vision, distance vision, and depth perception Position Type/Expected Hours of Work At-Will Notice of Employment does not provide a guarantee of a particular schedule of work or a minimum number of days or hours. This is a 9-month, 40-hour per week position. The employee will work ten hours per day Monday through Thursday. Extended work hours may occasionally be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CPR & First Aid card – must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician license/certificate (to be maintained) OR Current Paramedic license (to be maintained) OR Current CNA, LNA, LPN, LVN license or certificate (to be maintained)
  • Current license (to be maintained)
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Set up student health records and emergency cards
  • Review all student records for any health needs
  • Order and maintain school health and first aid supplies
  • Organize and help with all screening programs for vision, hearing, scoliosis, lice checks, and immunizations
  • Prepare re-screen lists
  • Record and update individual student records on screenings, immunizations, etc.
  • Administer daily prescription and over-the-counter medications to students in accordance with school board policy under the supervision of the school administrator and maintain accurate records of medication given
  • Maintain daily log of all students seen in the health office
  • Complete accident reports clearly and concisely for all accidents
  • Supervise enrollment of students with regard to proper immunization history
  • Screen all new students for vision, hearing, and immunization history
  • Administer first aid as needed
  • Duplicate and distribute educational and instructional materials on health
  • Provide hygiene-related demonstrations and services in the classroom as needed
  • Notify principal in any and all emergencies
  • Notify principal of any situation that might be considered child abuse or neglect
  • Compile periodic and year-end reports for state and district
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all policies, regulations, and rules
  • Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner
