About The Position

To empower students to embrace a biblical worldview through spiritual & academic growth, servant leadership, and authentic relationships in the name of Jesus Christ. Reports To: High School Principal Narrative Description: To serve families and staff by providing receptionist and other administrative duties in the operation of the high school campus office. Evansville Christian School is a community that values growth, service, and relationships . Teachers are expected to provide differentiated instruction and assessment in their respective content areas. It is important to teach, model, and implement effective study and discipline skills. Our staff must have a heart for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and must encourage spiritual growth through biblical application and integration, all in support of the school’s mission, vision, and core values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience; prior experience with ECS or other Christian school is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy office setting.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills – positive attitude.
  • Ability to take initiative and anticipate workflow needs in advance.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Knowledge the Google Suite preferred.
  • Knowledge of school operations and office administration desired.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with cash handling and processing of payments.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Agree with ECS’ Articles of Faith and abide by ECS’ Code of Christian Conduct, as well as demonstrate support of ECS faculty/staff and policies.
  • Have a heart for children, Christian education, and the ministry and mission of ECS.

  • Ability to respond to emergency situations that may require quick movement across the campus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the high school campus, including greeting parents and visitors, answering phone calls and emails, and responding in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Direct visitors and callers to appropriate staff members.
  • Promote school security by ensuring sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed for visitors and students.
  • Greet substitute teachers with hospitality and assist them with substitute folders, plans, and keys.
  • Open and close the school office.
  • Cover the office for pep assemblies and staff meetings.
  • Receive campus mail and packages.
  • Communicate effectively school supply stock needs with Campus Coordinator.
  • Help with regular communication through announcements and various media displays to students, parents, staff, and other campuses.
  • Collect payments and forms for student events and fundraisers, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of transactions.
  • Distribute dropped off items to staff and students.
  • Handle uniform and spirit wear sales.
  • Advocate for the ECS mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
  • Assist with special projects as requested as times allows.
  • Step in for the Health Coordinator as needed, to dispense medication and assist ill and injured students.
  • Coordinate with the Health Coordinator ill student dismissal and physician documents.
  • Support the Director of Admissions by taking contact information from prospective new families at ECHS.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with faculty in dismissing students from the classroom.
  • Have knowledge of the high school campus daily happenings, programs, and events, including athletic programs.
  • Maintaining staff areas such as the beverage station, work room, and mail station.
