About The Position

The School Coordinator ensures that all school aged patients who are in the facility more than nine days will receive educational services. The position serves as the liaison between the home school and the facility so that the patient has available resources to stay in compliance with their academic responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Degree/GED Required; or Associated Degree in Human Services field; or bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or a Certified Nursing assistant Certificate.
  • Two years of work experience in a behavioral health facility or a bachelor’s degree in social services or related field plus one year of work experience in behavioral health service is preferred.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
  • Direct service staff must complete a minimum of 20 hours or pre-service training including CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) prior to working first shift.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing procedures is essential.
  • Knowledge of all code procedures.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Laws and Abuse/Neglect/Maltreatment laws and regulatory agency requirements as applicable.
  • Skills in organization and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectivity with patients and co-workers.
  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use good judgement and to maintenance confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patients and dedication.
  • Ability to direction and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups.
  • Ability to work a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and compile data relating to patient care.
  • Ability to meet corporate deadlines.
  • Ability to react calmly an effectively in emergency situations.
