The School Certifying Official is responsible for processing both pre and post registration certifications/verifications through the enrollment manager portal. They will assist students with questions related to VA benefits, via phone, email, or in person while providing excellent customer service. The School Certifying Official accepts responsibilities for explaining, analyzing, and interpreting VA policy changes while monitoring the student eligibility for benefits processing associated with this designation. They will also be responsible for maintaining and preparing documentation for annual and semi-annual compliance audits from State and Federal agencies. The Certifying Official will assist with the process of federal military education benefits and supervision of VA work study students. Additionally, they will be responsible for tracking laws and regulations that might affect the organization’s policies specific to military education benefits. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy and will work closely with campus and community partners to process military educational benefits. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
