Rolling V Bus Corp. is seeking a School Bus Mechanic to maintain, repair, and perform preventive and on-demand maintenance on school buses used for student transportation. The role involves comprehensive vehicle repair, including engine performance, heating and air conditioning, electrical systems, brakes, drive train, axles, tires, automatic transmission, suspension, and steering. The mechanic will inspect parts and vehicles to identify defects, work with lubricants and hazardous solvents/fluids, and utilize in-house diagnostic and repair tools, including heavy equipment like lifts, air tools, lathes, mill work machines, and specialized tire equipment. Responsibilities also include driving vehicles in and out of the garage, road testing, and ensuring compliance with all safety, security, and quality standards set by the Company, State and Federal DOT authorities, NYS Department of Education, and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. The position requires completing accurate paperwork, maintaining safety consciousness, performing duties cost-effectively, protecting company assets, attending trainings, and interacting with drivers and operations management. The company offers paid training for skill upgrades and Commercial Driver’s License updates, and mechanics may be required to drive school bus routes if there is a driver shortage.
