About The Position

Full time PHMNP/PA working in School Based Behavioral Health in a collaborative role with the other school based providers including therapists, pediatric providers and child and adolescent psychiatrists to assist in the assessment and management of psychiatric patients who are referred to the MUSC School Based Behavioral Health team, under the supervision of a psychiatrist. Will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and work with a team of school-based based psychiatrists as part of the Mental Health ICCE. Entity MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) Worker Type Employee Worker Sub-Type Regular Cost Center CC004967 MCP - School-Based Behavioral Health Pay Rate Type Salary Pay Grade Health-33 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Work Shift Job Description Job Duties Provides direct care to patients through the following activities: Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations via telehealth Evaluates and treats on the basis of history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results pursuant to the practice agreement or scope of practice guideline Performs the following therapeutic procedures in accordance with procedural privileges, skill and proficiency as approved by the Clinical Division Chief Initiates referrals to other health care provides, and/or consults with the attending physician or the collaborating physician Documents and bills for direct care provided Utilizes current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research Participates in and supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities of the organization Demonstrates responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education Potential to precept students at MUSC enrolled as an advanced practice provider student; and facilitates the learning of other new team members APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law Works to understand the needs of patients and their families, and assists with care planning and goal setting, working to resolve conflicts when they arise. Assumes responsibility for management of care for assigned patient caseload, establishing protocols with collaborating/supervising physician and monitoring treatment plans and clinical practice. Monitor care delivered, clinical expert, role model and teacher/preceptor for nurses, students, interns and residents. Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
Two years clinical experience required, at least one year of which must have been in a specialty area of care.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner specific to the area of employment required unless a new graduate.
New graduates must be certification eligible upon employment, and obtain certification within six months of employment.
