School Based Behavior Therapy Assistant
About The Position
Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking full-time Behavior Therapy Assistants to support the behavior and educational services provided to students in our contracted charter schools that is located in Northeast Philadelphia. The charter school program services school-age children who have been identified through their IEP as needing individual support. This position may include travel to our additional sites in Philadelphia. The Behavior Therapy Assistant will fill a critical role in the expansion of Positive Behavior Supports within Easterseals and our charter school partners. The primary role involves implementing strategies as outlined in Positive Behavior Support Plans which includes taking data and teaching functionally equivalent replacement skills. The Behavior Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) and contribute to creating a nurturing and effective learning environment. This individual will need to demonstrate flexibility in that they may be serving one student at a time or be supporting a classroom teacher in an assistant role.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in a related field and/or current RBT certification required.
- Reliable transportation is required for possible travel to additional school sites.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children with disabilities and/or challenging behavior preferred.
- CPR/First aid certification preferred.
