School-Based 1:1 Registered Nurse – Trach/G-Tube Specialist
About The Position
Are you a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) looking for a rewarding 1:1 clinical role? Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a specialized short-term assignment in the New Haven and Hartford, CT area. Support a young learner's daily success by providing essential trach and G-tube care. With an immediate interview process and the potential for extension, this is a perfect chance to step into a pivotal role this January! Position Overview: Provide dedicated nursing support to an elementary student, ensuring safety and health throughout the school day, including the management of tracheostomy care and G-tube feedings. Accompany the student during bus transitions between school sites, maintaining a vigilant 1:1 presence to manage medical needs during travel and classroom activities. Maintain readiness to implement emergency protocols related to respiratory or nutritional interventions as outlined in the student's Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP). Maintain accurate medical logs and communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding the student’s daily health status.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Valid Connecticut (CT) Registered Nurse (RN) License (Required)
- Demonstrated competency and recent experience in trach care and G-tube management (Required)
