About The Position

The Scholarship Intern will play a critical role in supporting the Community Support Committee’s Scholarship Program. This position will assist with applicant support, application processing, and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and equitable scholarship process. The intern will act as a liaison between the Community Support Committee and scholarship applicants, providing guidance and resources to help students successfully complete their applications and identify other potential funding opportunities. This position will be expected to work 8 hours a week, from March-August 2026.

  • Preferably in the process of obtaining a BA/BS in Education, Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience applying for Tessera’s scholarship required.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality, time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with financial aid processes and/or experience working with students preferred.
  • A valid state driver’s license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.

Responsibilities

  • Host webinars to guide applicants through the scholarship application process.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to applicants needing additional support to strengthen their applications.
  • Host weekly virtual office hours to address applicant questions and offer personalized assistance.
  • Assist applicants in researching and identifying other external scholarship opportunities.
  • Review and screen submitted applications for eligibility and completeness.
  • Communicate with applicants to resolve incomplete or missing information in their submissions.
  • Contact schools to obtain W9 tax forms for scholarship disbursements.
  • Collaborate with Finance to process approved scholarship awards by submitting required W9s and invoices.
  • Prepare and send award letters to scholarship recipients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of scholarship payments to recipients’ schools.
  • Maintain accurate records of applicant communications, application statuses, and award distributions.
  • Collaborate with the Community Support Committee to support overall program goals and objectives.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned.
