About The Position

Under the general direction of the Epic Analyst - Lead, Scheduling Services, the Epic Analyst Senior, Scheduling Services will ensure a World Class, patient-centric experience of Service Excellence through every interaction with UPMC Scheduling Services. This patient-centric experience will align with not only the Scheduling Services Mission & Vision but the UPMC Core Values, creating an Industry Leading patient experience during each and every interaction. The Epic Analyst Senior, Scheduling Services will act as a leader, mentor, and role model at all times, with responsibility for the comprehensive analysis of data and information for the various Epic Cadence processes utilized across Scheduling Services, including the implementation and maintenance of the various Epic Cadence systems and databases for Physician Services. The Epic Analyst Senior, Scheduling Services will evaluate the client's business environments while working with Information Services Staff and client professionals to develop requirements for technology solutions related to business operations. The Epic Analyst Senior, Scheduling Services must possess a clear understanding of financial, clinical, and other information generated by numerous sources to identify opportunities to improve clinical and financial performance. The Epic Analyst Senior, Scheduling Services will articulate these opportunities to internal and external audiences implementing the solutions, and tracking / monitoring progress. These functions must be done while also weighing the practical consideration and potential barriers that need to be overcome to successfully implement new programs and processes while adhering to UPMC Values and a Culture of Service Excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant business experience
  • OR High School Diploma / GED with 4 years of relevant experience required.
  • 1 year of Epic Cadence build and implementation experience required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Extensive related experience will be considered.
  • Strong computer skills with expert knowledge in Word, Excel and EpicCare/eRecord preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a World Class patient experience, focusing on Service Excellence and one contact resolution with each and every patient interaction..
  • Responsible for all aspects of application support including basic design and analysis, application configuration, testing, system documentation, and training, as needed.
  • Provide Epic Cadence support for all Physician Division Scheduling services including template design and Decision Tree build.
  • Participates in the build, rollout, and support of the assigned application, acting as first-level response for the assigned application(s) by communicating with end users of the system to understand issues and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with department leaders regarding the use of assigned applications, to maximize department performance and leadership decision-making.
  • Update Scheduling Services Leadership, business partners, and others as appropriate on a timely basis regarding progress on assigned tasks, projects and issues via written and / or oral reports.
  • Take part in training and collaborate with end users, acting as a liaison with department appointed Cadence team for training and coordination of all processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives, including participation in weekly project team meetings.
  • Work with Epic representatives, Scheduling Services and Physician Services Leadership, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline.
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to determine the direction for the organization's workflows, including site visits and other integrated sessions.
  • Develop and maintain clear, understandable documentation to describe program development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. Update system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports, and interfaces.
  • Protect the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures.
  • Evaluate and document client needs and all aspects of business processes both operational and financial, including current process analysis and proposed revisions to optimize business processes.
  • Assist with the design and documentation of business/system functional requirements to facilitate the development of deliverables such as request for Proposals and/or Information, custom development efforts, and project-based planning documents such as scope documents and client services communication.
  • Partner with ISD staff, clients and/or vendors to evaluate technology solutions including both packaged system solutions and custom development application and component development options.
  • Develop information technology solutions in component based, custom development and/or package system environments.
  • Ensure quality of information technology solutions through business case and application-level testing; validates test results to initial business needs.
  • Design and document system level and end user level procedures to support business applications.
