Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 3 years of experience in maintenance or construction activities required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the planning, preparing of estimates and coordinating of all assigned maintenance and renovation projects.
  • Conducts necessary facility, service and utility surveys to determine the feasibility and scope of work.
  • Prepares cost estimates, consolidates and submits to designated authorities for review and approval.
  • Receives all work/projects requests and reviews with requestor departments and designated authorities.
  • Prepares costs estimates, consolidates estimates and submits to designated authorities for review and approval.
  • May provide necessary authorization for approved projects.
  • Develops and maintains current master schedule of all maintenance and renovation projects.
  • Maintains close contact with all concerned parties regarding changes and scheduling.
  • Coordinates and monitors all work in progress.
  • Conducts necessary facility, service and utility surveys to determine the feasibility and scope of work.
  • Assigns priorities, plans and schedules work with Trade/Maintenance Supervisors and/or outside contractors and vendors.
  • Ensures all work performed on behalf of the department complies with all University, federal, state and local safety regulations.
  • Ensures contractors obtain Electrical Underwriters certificates for every project which is contracted outside of the University.
  • May maintain fiscal accountability of approved funds.
  • May provide necessary computer database input and utilize control reports to identify and investigate significant variations in schedules, reviewing them with designated authorities.
  • Keeps informed regarding new methods and procedures in the construction field, new products and equipment.
  • May serve on, or participate in committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
