Reporting into the Plant Manager, the Materials & Scheduling Coordinator will be based out of Houston, TX and will be responsible for producing the Master Production Schedule for operations and aligning the Raw Material purchasing plan with the Master Production Schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant operational experience in either manufacturing or logistics or supply chain planning
  • Proficiency in an ERP system
  • Manufacturing or metals industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Management of the master production schedule that balances network demand, inventory and supply capacity
  • Manage hard demand requirements coming to the network and balance them against available capacity
  • Manage exceptions in demand and capacity imbalance and optimize the schedule as needed
  • Work with Sales, customer service, operations, procurement and operations to manage supply disruption and optimization efforts
  • Utilizing knowledge and information from the Master Plan and S&OP, support occasional strategic supply development requests regarding warehouse footprint and strategic raw material requirements
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to inform distribution network alignment with customers and suppliers to improve performance and/or reduce cost
  • Accountable for development and management of Engineered inventory levels across the supply network
  • Make changes to inventory targets and explain inventory shifts in addition to performing root cause analysis on unexpected variances
  • Reconcile daily/weekly/monthly cycle count results against system inventories and investigate discrepancies.
  • Provide expertise and feedback to support system improvements
  • Responsible for validation and update of planning assumptions in IFS
