About The Position

Under the leadership of the Office Manager, the Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the physician’s office and surgical scheduling to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. This includes scheduling in-office appointments and new patient referrals according to physician protocols, coordinating surgical procedures, securing required authorizations and pre-certifications, and verifying insurance eligibility. The role requires consistent communication with physicians, administrative staff, patients, and external facilities to ensure all appointments, procedures, and follow-up care are accurately arranged and supported with the appropriate documentation. Additionally, the Scheduling Coordinator provides backup coverage for colleagues, handles patient communications through calls, texts, faxes, and messages, and performs various general office duties. A strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and teamwork is essential, along with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and upholding safety and professional standards in all interactions.

Requirements

  • computer literate with the ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft applications
