About The Position

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Scheduler. Environment: Call Center Setting Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Position purpose Schedule patients for office visit and procedure appointments Gastroenterology Practice Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm & Friday - 8am - 4pm

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills are required
  • Experience working in a medical office
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Basic understanding of healthcare plans
  • Be able to read and understand medical benefits.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of prior medical scheduling is preferred
  • Entry level (1-4 years experience) and/or meet the basic requirements of the job with the need for additional supervision.
  • Excess of 4 years experience if meeting only the basic requirements of the job with need for additional supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient technical (computer) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Self-motivated with initiative.
  • Strong sense of ethics.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and answering queue with high call volume.
  • Maintain physicians' schedules with scheduling office visits and procedures (no patient interaction)
  • Assist in patient registration and updating demographics.
  • Communicates procedure information and patient instructions appropriately and in a timely manner to patients.
  • Communicates with providers/physicians as needed regarding scheduling and pertinent educational materials for patients.
  • Refer scheduling issues to the appropriate decision-maker and be able to provide problem resolution recommendations.
  • May include recall scheduling.
  • Take triage call messages for medical staff.
  • View patients visit notes, identifying problems & diagnosis listed and physician orders
  • Communicating with providers through patients' charts.
  • Complies with organizational and HIPAA policies and regulations to ensure patient care is kept confidential.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
