Presently, MAG is seeking the following position: Scheduler II   SUMMARY Plans, prepares production schedules and expedites material to achieve production goals and meet delivery date commitments in the manufacture of the division's product line by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from two-year College or university preferred or 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and employees.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Extensive knowledge of MRP system.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and project applications, preferably Microsoft Office software.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops assigned master schedules to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established sequences and lead times.
  • Interact with project team and task managers to update detailed schedules and identify variances from original plan.
  • Attends meetings with the customer and core tem to report project status and critical issues.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around.
  • Process and evaluate engineering releases, either directing work to the supplier base, issuing work to manufacturing and coordinating the use of excess material.
  • Maintain surveillance over sales orders in process to keep informed of manufacturing status and, when needed, initiates the necessary steps to maintain conformity with schedules.
  • Prepares status reports and schedule updates to report project progress and order status.
  • Creates WBS project structures in SAP
  • Follows ISO procedures utilizing the appropriate work instructions and forms.
  • Shares ideas about process improvements and other cost saving measures with management.
  • Adhers to quality, customs, foreign trade zone and environmental processes and procedures.
