About The Position

The Scheduler in Shipping plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and timely flow of production, shipping, and customer fulfillment activities. This position goes beyond traditional administrative support by actively contributing to operational planning, process optimization, and cross‑departmental coordination. The Scheduler is responsible for aligning production schedules with inventory availability, customer requirements, and logistics timelines ultimately driving improved service levels, reduced bottlenecks, and stronger operational performance. This role requires strong analytical skills, proactive communication, and the ability to anticipate issues before they impact the business. The Scheduler serves as a central hub between production, warehouse operations, customer service, and logistics teams.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ Experience in scheduling, logistics coordination, production planning, or related operational roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to shifting business needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize daily and weekly production schedules based on capacity, material availability, and customer priorities.
  • Print and distribute picklists for all daily production shipments.
  • Print and distribute paperwork for all customer pickup shipments.
  • Review, work through, and clear shipping exceptions to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment as well coordinate resolution of past‑due orders.
  • Audit EPICS vs. EPICOR shipments and invoices to ensure system accuracy and prevent downstream billing issues.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and monitor warehouse inventory levels to support accurate scheduling and prevent stockouts.
  • Order supplies and materials for shipping and fleet operations as needed.
  • Scan and distribute all BOMs to related CSR and order entry groups.
  • Facilitate commercial invoices, ABF billings, and National Account customer order invoices.
  • Serve as the communication bridge between production, warehouse, customer service, and logistics teams.
  • Provide daily updates on schedule changes, risks, and priorities.
