Qualifications Summary: Wind Turbine SCADA Engineer I will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering and Services and play a pivotal role in supporting Goldwind America’s engineering and service operations. This position involves the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimization of wind turbine SCADA systems and related technologies, ensuring alignment with customer needs and industry standards. The role demands flexibility, including travel to project sites (up to 25% of working time), availability for work on nights, weekends, or holidays as required, and effective collaboration with internal teams, external customers, contractors, and international partners. Golwind America is seeking someone passionate about the wind energy industry and eager to learn and work with SCADA systems and related technologies.

  • Assist in configuring and deploying SCADA systems and related technologies tailored to the North American market.
  • Utilize diagnostic and configuration software tools to support SCADA operations and service activities for wind turbines.
  • Work with multilingual technical materials (including muti-language documents, videos, and software) by leveraging translation tools to ensure comprehension and effective implementation.
  • Develop, review, and adapt technical documentation and work instructions to address site-specific requirements for new and existing customers.
  • Lead system installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and security protocols for wind turbine SCADA infrastructure under supervision.
  • Administer system access controls and user management in accordance with company policies under supervision.
  • Maintain detailed records of software versions, configurations, changes, and project progress, providing regular updates to the supervisor and leadership team as required.
  • Monitor site performance and equipment health to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues under supervision.
  • Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, key account managers, site teams, and remote operations centers to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with service agreements.
  • Deliver technical support to internal stakeholders and external customers as required.
  • Ensure SCADA systems adhere to local, national, and industry regulations, including safety and technical compliance standards.
  • Foster a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and subcontractors, promoting high standards in quality, health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Adhere to Goldwind America’s QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policies, including incident reporting, investigations, and safety planning.
  • Support ongoing ISO certification efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned or as business needs emerge.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • Experience with IT networks or/and control systems. One (1) year of working experience with SCADA systems in the renewable energy or wind industry is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with a process-oriented approach and excellent verbal/written communication abilities.
  • Collaborative team player capable of managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Innovative problem-solver with a results-driven mindset.
  • A quick learner with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
  • Proficiency in system implementation, from design through deployment and support.
  • Programming proficiency in languages such as C++, Java, and scripting for Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server).
  • Understanding of server hardware setup and networking fundamentals.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and professional development in a dynamic engineering environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of working time.
  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English.
