SCADA Engineer ( AutoCAD, Fiber Optics )
About The Position
Senior Network Engineer with over 8+ years in telecommunications engineering efforts within major Oil & Gas FEED, Detailed Engineering & EPC projects. Extensive expertise in creating detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD, implementing SCADA automation systems with a strong networking foundation, and managing fiber optic and microwave transmission networks Good understanding of telecom packages in EPC projects of different phases from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to Detailed Design, Commissioning, and Handover. Primary Technical interface with clients, vendors, and inter-disciplinary teams (Electrical, Instrumentation, Process) to resolve technical queries and interface issues Contribute to the creation of critical telecom engineering deliverables, including Block Diagrams, System Architectures, Layouts, and Termination Schedules using AutoCAD. Design and validate integrated telecom systems suitable for hazardous Oil & Gas environments, including PAGA, CCTV, Access Control, LAN/WAN, and Hotline Systems. Develop detailed technical specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions for telecom equipment procurement. Lead the design and implementation of SCADA automation networks, architect secure industrial networking solutions (TCP/IP , Switching, Routing, Firewalls) to support operational technology (OT) requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in Telecommunications Engineering, with at least 5 years in a Lead or Senior role within the Oil & Gas EPC sector
- Extensive proven track record in Greenfield and Brownfield projects, covering Onshore and Offshore facilities
- Demonstrated experience in the full project lifecycle, including engineering, installation supervision, and commissioning
- Essential proficiency in AutoCAD for creating 2D engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics
- Ability to guide drafters and review .dwg files for technical accuracy
- In-depth knowledge of SCADA architectures, RTUs, PLCs, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850)
- Strong background in IP Networking, VLANs, and cyber security principles relevant to industrial control systems (ICS)
- Expert-level knowledge of Fiber Optic cable plant design (OSP/ISP)
