As a SCADA Engineer, Advisor in Houston, you will play a key role in supporting the systems that keep ENGIE’s renewable generation assets operating safely and efficiently across North America. You will work on the technology that drives wind, solar, and storage performance by developing and maintaining Wonderware System Platform, building InTouch HMI graphics, and supporting SCADA integration for new and existing sites. You will collaborate every day with engineering, operations, and construction delivery teams, applying your technical expertise to help ensure reliable data flow, stable controls, and secure system performance. Your work will directly support the operation of substations, renewable plants, and energy storage infrastructure, giving you hands-on exposure to ENGIE’s growing portfolio. You will handle daily SCADA updates, alarm workflows, data collection processes, and interface changes between sites and control systems. You will manage documentation and test procedures, support outage and restoration work, and travel to renewable sites to participate in commissioning and signal checkout activities. You will gain meaningful experience across multiple technologies, project types, and operational environments, offering ongoing opportunities to broaden your technical skills and impact within the team.

  • Learn ENGIE North America distributed generation SCADA architecture and new project development and implementation process.
  • Assist with engineering analysis, design review and commissioning of renewable energy projects (including Wind, Solar PV, Solar PV + Energy Storage).
  • Create test procedures to verify hardware and software designs.
  • Travel to remote sites to assist project commissioning and signal check-out activities of SCADA communications.
  • Assist in commissioning of wind, solar photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems.
  • Become familiar with ENGIE Cyber Security framework and support compliance in all the renewable projects.
  • Prepare performance monitoring tools and programming applications.
  • Record specification designs, drawings, bills of materials and test data.
  • Ensure engineering design comply with UL, IEEE, ISA requirements.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.
  • A minimum of an Associates Degree in Automation and Controls Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, Computer Programming Engineering or equivalent.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of industrial automation working experience in the Power Sector.
  • Proficient in AVEVA Wonderware System Platform (2017-2023).
  • Experienced in development of process graphics in InTouch HMI.
  • Experience in PLC hardware and maintenance for PLC’s Allen-Bradley Control Logix, ABB PLC.
  • Experience programming PLC ladder logic, functional blocks.
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 15% of the time, including some travel to Canada and occasional overnight trips.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
  • This position consists of 15% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions.
