About The Position

Telecommunications Mechanic I (RWR-2025-23228): Bowhead seeks to network with Telecommunications Mechanic I for an upcoming proposal effort to support communications upgrades at McConnell AFB.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of general cable installation or hands-on technical labor.
• Basic knowledge of TIA color codes and structured cabling.
• Ability to use hand tools and follow safety guidelines.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to work in secure environments with proper base access procedures.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
• Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
• US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and secure Cat-6 cabling per direction of senior technicians.
• Assist with termination, labeling, and dressing of cabling into racks and panels.
• Perform material handling and site preparation tasks.
• Support installation of faceplates, patch cords, and basic grounding.
• Other duties as assigned
