The Provider Data Analyst maintains a successful working relationship between Optum Serve and network providers through working with many varied clinical delivery systems. Ability to understand and identify the best alignment of appointment requirements to clinical times available within the varied clinical delivery systems. Communicate with internal customers to ensure the most efficient use of time to accomplish department goals and contract requirements. Schedule: This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required work an 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am – 4:30pm EST. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of related experience with provider relations, network management or customer service
  • 1+ years of experience with medical, dental, or health insurance
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Adobe or similar
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday between 8am-4:30pm EST
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location where there is a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update provider demographic, credentialing, and contract data in provider network databases to support claims adjudication and directory accuracy
  • Analyze and resolve complex provider data discrepancies, error reporting, escalations, and rework requests using standard operating procedures and decision tools
  • Perform data quality audits, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve provider data accuracy and reduce downstream errors
  • Extract, analyze, and report provider data for operational, compliance, and business needs
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and business requirements related to provider directories, claims payment, and network reporting
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Network Management, Credentialing, Contracting, Claims, and IT on provider data initiatives and system enhancements
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance provider data quality, efficiency, and provider experience
  • Continually communicate with Veteran Administration Services, Provider Network Management, and other departments to accomplish mission tasks related to scheduling procedures
  • Maintain constant awareness of queue status related to provider data demographic issues \ discrepancies, urgent provider updates, and miscellaneous order issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned
