Summary Operates complex component saws to cut planks, timbers, or boards according to work orders by performing the following duties. Provides training and work direction to other Saw Operators. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reviews work order to determine cut(s) to be made. Operate component saw with computer controlled touch screen. Adjusts saw for required cuts. Adjusts speed of saw and feed rolls. Observes automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls. Coordinates multiple activities associated with saw operations including picking, staging, stacking and loading. Plans and assigns work tasks among team in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related production goals. Performs job tracking and reporting, overseeing the efficiency and output of team. Trains new employees in the tasks required for component assembly work, including actual assembly techniques, use of tools and machinery, and safety guidelines and procedures.
