We’re seeking dependable, hard-working individuals who are eager to learn, stay productive, and grow over time. The Saw Operator safely operates chop and rip saws to cut materials to specified dimensions while maintaining quality standards. The role also includes forklift operation for material handling and collaboration with production and warehouse teams to support efficient and safe workflow.

Requirements

  • Experience operating chop saws, rip saws, or similar equipment
  • Ability to read work orders and accurately measure materials
  • Knowledge of wood species and basic lumber handling IS REQUIRED
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong safety awareness
  • Forklift experience or ability to become certified
  • Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and meet production deadlines
  • Sit, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moving, bending, standing, kneeling, lifting and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Pushing/pulling, grasping/squeezing, pinching, fine motor dexterity.
  • Exposure to high noise levels and requires wearing hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Exposure to plant environment to include moving parts, fumes, dust. Safety glasses to be worn at all times.
  • Endure heat and cold conditions in the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate one or more saws to cut wood and wood products to specified lengths
  • Rip, measure, cut, and prepare material for production
  • Jobs to cut will include: cut lists; remakes, odd jobs, specialty, CNC.  (Face and beaded faces, solid stock, good ends, molding, frames, valances, shelves, fluted rails, rosette blocks, louvered doors, battens, fillers, dovetails, ¼ resaw material, odd stile and rails, wine rack and other materials as needed for production).
  • Drive forklift when needed
  • Work efficiently while paying attention to detail.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Follow all safety rules and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Participate and contribute to a “Team” environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
