VALLEY CABINET Position Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for operating their assigned machinery. They ensure their machine runs smoothly, works at capacity without issue and is appropriately maintained.

Requirements

  • No required education or job experience.
  • Ability to learn and retain on the job training.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read measurement tools such as a tape measure.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions in English.
  • Ability to meet quality standards - strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to consistently meet/exceed production quotas.

Responsibilities

  • Daily operation of the Panel Saw.
  • Organize and complete daily work following the schedule.
  • Set up and operate the machine in accordance to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Read and interpret production paperwork to select, position, and secure machine.
  • Manually load and unload plywood sheets to Panel Saw for sizing panel pieces for shop production.
  • Adjust machine settings to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Careful inspection of the product.
  • Perform minor routine machine maintenance.
  • Operate fork lift. (Training provided, as needed).
  • Housekeeping; sweep and pick up debris over, around, and under machine area.
  • Follow all safety rules and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Participate and contribute to a “Team” environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
