About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for cutting steel materials to precise specifications to support production, including cargo trailer manufacturing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, has strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing accurate, quality work.  Job Summary: Saw Shop team members are responsible for blasting and delivering material with outstanding service in a safe manner and must be able to manufacture in a fast paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities in directly job-related experiences.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination with the ability to safely lift 80 pounds with prolonged periods of standing.
  • Able to work 10 hour shifts with potential overtime.
  • Willing to submit a pre-employment background check.
  • Able to work in a self-directed way to manage multiple demands of time and attention in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate band saws, cold saws, or other cutting equipment to cut steel to specified dimensions
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cut lists
  • Measure and mark materials to ensure accurate cuts
  • Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality standards are met
  • Maintain proper material flow to support production schedules
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on saw equipment
  • Keep work area clean and organized in accordance with safety standards
  • Work closely with production team to meet daily output goals
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
  • Ensure your own safety by always using designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools designed and rated for the task, complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup and throughput goals.
  • Operate all power tools and machinery in the Saw Shop effectively and respectfully.
  • Read and understand work orders, schedules, and work instructions.
  • Perform quality checks and product inspections of material.
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment prior to shift startup to ensure the safety of you and your coworkers, as well as the operational effectiveness of equipment.
  • Handle, move, transport, and store material safely while operating cranes and/or carts.
