About The Position

This position's primary function is to properly train current employees and any new employee entering the department. This person must be a leader and demonstrate the ability to work safely, produce a quality product while maximizing production. This person must believe in the team concept and demonstrate this by being a team player and a leader while possessing strong communication skills. Must communicate effectively through speech, writing, and active listening. This person will report directly to the Plant Superintendent. Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (Flexible as needed) Wage: $103,000-$128,000 - DOE - Salary Exempt. Production bonuses are possible for every employee each month, based on the plant site's target goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 Years of saw filing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity. Will be honest and forthcoming with information.
  • Innovate techniques in problem solving and by extension, promote innovation in the crew.
  • Have a positive attitude about daily activities and project a positive image to the crew. Will be a team builder and promote teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Be safety minded.
  • Be internal/external customer orientated.
  • Oversee entire filing maintenance program.
  • Undergo all training as requested by management.
  • Attend all meetings as requested by management.
  • Communicate all pertinent information learned above to filing team.
  • Communicate ideas and needs of filing team to management.
  • Keep the filing program working in connection with operations and other maintenance programs.
  • Attend training seminars and workshops to constantly further filing education.
  • Communicate with vendors to keep up with and improve inventory.
  • Work with filing team to keep our standards at their highest.
  • Be willing to perform any job or task, which may normally be assigned to another member of the filing team.
  • Oversee all filers.
  • Plan maintenance relating to filers.
  • Assign duties to individual filers.
  • Keep an adequate inventory of sawing materials.
  • Assist with and train filers to properly fit, bench and weld band saws.
  • Assist with and train filers to properly fit and bench round saws.
  • Be able to cut and weld.
  • Be knowledgeable of machine center alignment (band mill, edgers, carriage, etc.)
  • Be able to trouble shoot all kinds of problems (mechanical, electrical, etc.)
  • Work with people in a positive team environment.
  • Attend all meetings related to saw filing.
  • Order filing stock and tools, and keep track of inventory.
  • Be knowledgeable about wheel grinding.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain appropriate checklist.
