HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Assist in the planning, configuration, implementation, and installation of mobile and fixed communications platforms. Manage inventory control documents and life cycle maintenance schedules associated with operational equipment. Conduct routine and emergency maintenance and repair actions on: Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) equipment, Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) endpoints, Ultra-high Frequency/Super-high Frequency/Very-high Frequency/High Frequency (UHF/SHF/VHF/HF) radio platforms, desktop and laptop computer terminals, fiber optic media converters and repeaters, and data equipment to include server hardware, keyboard video and mouse (KVM) terminals, routers, switches, and fiber distribution panels. Provide administration, operations support, technical support, and customer support on deployed Land Mobile Radio (LMR), SATCOM, 5G cellular routers, and Windows terminals in a field environment. Receive, transport, load, and configure communications security (COMSEC) keying material for secure communications equipment. Provide feedback and guidance in developing solutions to unique mission requirements involving replacement, upgrades, and augmentations to existing communications capabilities. Develop, standardize, and deliver training seminars or lectures to customers covering the proper operations and maintenance of mobile secure communications platforms. Document standard operating procedures, routine tasks, updates to systems information in manuals, diagrams, reports, and flow charts. Assist directly in logistics operations pertaining to acquisition, receipt, relocation, and deployment of equipment.
