About The Position

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is hiring for a Part-time SAS Site Assistant for their School Age Programs at Blackman Elementary School. This position involves working Monday through Friday, from 2pm to 6pm, providing after-school care. The role requires a commitment to ongoing employment during the 2026–2027 school year and is not suitable for summer-only employment. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to helping children grow socially, physically, spiritually, and mentally in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 18
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented individuals with a passion for youth development.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to multitask.
• Before your first shift: Orientation, DHS Background Check, Fingerprinting, Abuse Registry Check, health forms, training sessions, and references.
• Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant/Pediatric).

Responsibilities

• Actively lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities, inside and outside.
• Set up and transform program spaces into child-friendly environments and ensure cleanliness.
• Help plan and implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, school personnel, and families.
• Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
