About The Position

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is hiring a Part-time SAS Site Assistant for their School Age Programs at Barfield Elementary School. This role is for individuals passionate about working with kids and making a difference in their lives, joining a team dedicated to helping children grow socially, physically, spiritually, and mentally in a fun, safe, and engaging environment. The position requires a commitment to ongoing employment during the 2026–2027 school year and is not suitable for summer-only employment.

Requirements

• Minimum Age: 18
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented individuals with a passion for youth development.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to multitask.
• Complete Orientation, DHS Background Check, Fingerprinting, Abuse Registry Check, health forms, training sessions, and references before your first shift.
• Obtain CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant/Pediatric) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Actively lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities, inside and outside.
• Set up and transform program spaces into child-friendly environments and ensure cleanliness.
• Help plan and implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
• Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, school personnel, and families.
• Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
