Our dairy cooperative is seeking a regular, full-time Sanitation Worker. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), primarily on 1st shift but schedule flexibility, willingness to work overtime, weekends, holiday and rotate shift, as required. At times overtime, weekend work, holiday work, and shift rotation will be mandatory. The starting pay range is $23.77- $26.03/hr. plus shift differential when applicable. The Sanitation Worker will provide the support necessary in meeting and exceeding established sanitation standards and goals. Assist in specialized cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, walls, floors, racks and other areas in the Plant and surrounding areas to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company policies related to GMPs and safety. Position responsibilities include: Recognize, read and adhere to chemical labels and directions provided to ensure safe application. Effectively and efficiently clean and sanitize equipment using required chemicals. Maintain sanitation equipment/tools in a clean and organized manner, including chemical pumps and other sanitation equipment. Immediately report all food safety and quality issues to the Plant Sanitarian, Quality Manager, Production Supervisor or designee. Schedule flexibility, willingness to work overtime, weekends, holiday and rotate shift, as required. At times overtime, weekend work, holiday work, and shift rotation will be mandatory. Adhere to Company rules, regulations and core values, including Code of Conduct. Perform all tasks using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), following the Food Safety and Food Quality requirements of the SQF Program. This includes the requirement to report all safety issues and incidents to a supervisor, or another member of the leadership team, immediately. Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and excellent housekeeping practices in accordance with the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Work safely and efficiently, following all safety requirements including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and follow SQF, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HAACP), GMPs and sanitation regulations.
  • Understand all facets of the cleaning procedures for processing equipment, including conveyors, machines, packaging equipment and Dry cleaning.
  • All food safety issues and incidents are to be reported to the QA Department either directly by the employee or through another member of plant leadership.
  • Work effectively in a multi-tasking environment, work independently and as part of a team, work with minimum supervision and ability to interact positively with others at every level of the organization.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Identify and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Handle situations or problems that occur with a high level of professionalism and direction.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read and understand instructions and manuals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive Ability to grow and support a team environment.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

  • Act as a responsible steward of the environment.
  • Minimum high school diploma, GED or HiSET.

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry preferred.
