About The Position

The Sanitation Technician is to be proficient in duties consisting of routine cleaning of machinery, sanitizing in regard to cross contamination and working closely with QC Department. Technicians perform regular upkeep of the plant offices and facility. Work Environment: Work is performed indoors and outdoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles. Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures/weather, dusty areas, confined spaces, and heights. Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in wet, cold, hot, dusty areas and at heights.
  • Must have ability to accept temporary assignment changes to assist other areas of the plant, maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of product routinely.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, squat , pull, push, and scrub vertically and horizontally.
  • Must be able to understand and execute mixing ration instructions.
  • Must be able to read and understand chemical labels , MSDS sheets, SO P' s and SSOP' s.
  • Must be able to correctly and clearly fill out master sanitation, verification of test strips and any and all logs.
  • Must work in a safe, professional manner at all times.
  • Must report any accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor immediately.

Nice To Haves

  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug screen, background check, and physical.)
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, squat, bend, pull, push, and scrub in all directions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure minimal risk of cross contamination by properly utilizing color coded equipment in the appropriate colored zones.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities by foaming, sanitizing, scrubbing, and scraping using various chemicals and tools.
  • Complete the master sanitation schedule of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, and any other logs.
  • Sort chemicals, mix, and fill up sanitizer tanks.
  • Understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, and HACCP.
  • Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
  • Report all safety violations and hazards to the supervisor immediately and participate in all safety programs and procedures. Must always wear required PPE.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.
