About The Position

The Sanitation Technician, Sr. position performs a variety of semi-skilled, heavy manual tasks related to the collection of refuse on assigned residential or business routes. Position requires regular operation of a city vehicle to perform duties. 2nd Shift or 3rd shift

Requirements

• Ability to follow specific instructions, recognize and apply safe work practices
• Ability to walk long distances, lift and carry 100 lbs.
• Ability to work assigned shift and may be required to assist in multiple areas
• Ability to work outdoors exposed to all weather conditions
• Must be able to work holidays
• Must also be able to work nights, weekends or other unusual hours as needed in support of special events or emergency response
• Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, safety precautions and work hazards involved in operation of equipment
• Ability to read street maps and follow instructions
• Final candidate subject to job related physical agility test
• Ability to obtain a City driver permit is required
• Valid Driver's License
