Lactalis American Group is hiring a Sanitation Operator Level I, who will be responsible for independently disassembling, cleaning, and assembling machines, inspecting equipment after cleaning and sanitizing, and preventing bacteriological contamination in the department area.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in sanitation, with a solid understanding of sanitation standards and equipment operation
  • Knowledge of Chemical Handling procedures
  • Experience with CIP and COP
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working in wet, hot, and humid conditions for extended periods
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work independently and be part of a team
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning products
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance requirements, including regular and punctual attendance
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe work.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or completion of GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembles all the packaging equipment to clean and disinfect
  • Follow and adhere to all safety and GMP procedures and policies
  • Take necessary measures if people are performing unsafe acts or are in an unsafe environment.
  • Perform daily swabs of equipment
  • Reassembles all equipment taken apart and prepares equipment for production, ensuring production will resume on clean equipment and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by adhering to all housekeeping and GMP procedures
  • Interact with associates to maintain efficient process flow
  • Maintain an open line of communication with all line workers, supervisors, and managers
  • Perform sanitation duties as assigned by the sanitation lead and supervisor
  • Report problems and/or concerns to supervisors and/or management
  • Attend departmental meetings and training as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager
  • Perform other work duties as assigned
