About The Position

The Sanitation Manager is responsible for assuring the cleanliness of the environment in which all Crown Bakeries products are produced, stored and distributed. Key activities include daily plant sanitation monitoring, effort toward ongoing improvement of sanitation programs and procedures and verification that checklists are being completed and cleaning tasks are being performed satisfactorily.

Requirements

  • BS or other relevant 4-year degree
  • Minimum 5 years related Food Manufacturing experience
  • Analysis skills for problem solving and decision making
  • Superior communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic mathematical and statistical skills
  • Experience with and familiar with GFSI audits is mandatory. (BRC) or (SQF)
  • Certified in HACCP
  • Certified in pest control and clear understanding of IPM (Integrated Pest Management.
  • Experienced in the use of ATP meter and keeping weekly records on swabbing results.
  • Experienced in titration of cleaning chemicals and recording results weekly.
  • Perform daily GMP and food safety walks with Supervisor and Leads.
  • Weekly plant inspections with entire plant management. Covering entire plant within four weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing, hiring new employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving problems.
  • Trains and instructs employees regarding sanitation standards, GMPs, SSOPs and department objectives.
  • Maintains and updates all SSOPs, Master Sanitation Schedule, and department forms.
  • Works with Management to develop procedures and techniques for verifying and validating the effectiveness of current sanitation procedures; ATP
  • Plans, assigns, and directs all work activities of the Sanitation Supervisor, Sanitation Leads, and Sanitors. Verifies that all activities are performed with attention to high standards of food safety and quality, in compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements and focused on continuous process improvement.
  • Compiles required reports regarding plant sanitation inspections, sanitation violations, and corrective actions to resolve deficiencies.
  • Ensures that the facility is Audit Ready at all times and represents the Sanitation Department during Regulatory, 3rd party and Customer Audits.
  • Develops Corrective Action procedures and conducts employee training for any audit deficiencies noted.
  • Manages the Sanitation Department budget and explores cost savings and continuous improvement options to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Works closely with chemical consultants in reviewing chemical usage and operating procedures as well as keeping abreast of new technology.
  • Weekly meet with your pest control provider before and after their visit to discuss any issues found or existing in the facility and his report must be signed by Sanitation manager.
  • Pest Control Sighting Log must be maintained in employee’s cafeteria.
  • Organize regular meetings with Sanitation associates, supervisors and leads to discuss performance objectives and expectations.
  • Communication between Operations, Quality, and Maintenance departments is critical.
  • Conducted daily walk-throughs to assess the cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Monitored progress against established goals for improved efficiency in sanitation operations.
