About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Sanitation Lead to work from our High Street manufacturing facility in Hanover, PA. Applicants must have knowledge of procedures for cleaning food manufacturing equipment, as well as interpersonal and supervisory skills necessary to lead others, Working on Second Shift Monday – Friday from 3:30PM – 11:30 PM. Excellent organizational and procedural skills are needed. This candidate will be responsible to assist the Sanitation Manager in executing the daily cleaning and inspections of all equipment used in the facility for processing and packaging of food products, as well as equipment used by associates.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and adherence to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ability to handle and work safely with cleaning chemicals (mild and harsh).
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment: High Reach and Forklift (with current license) Can washers and other production cleaning equipment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on elevated surfaces comfortably.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard work instructions.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to respond positively to changes.
  • Proficiency in computers and Microsoft programs.
  • Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
  • Requires knowledge and skills of a barrel filling lines, rod machine and labelers.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 80lbs.
  • Required forklift license.
  • Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day sanitation operations.
  • Coordinate and support major cycle-ending cleanups to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Assist leadership with team trainings, education, and safety initiatives.
  • Maintain approval/certification as a “Subject Matter Expert” within the facility.
  • Flexibly work across different campus production areas as needed.
  • Participate in packaging, processing, auxiliary plant cleanup, and production cycle-ending cleanup activities.
  • Operate cleaning tools and equipment, including air wands, high-pressure rinse, squeegees, motorized sweepers, and hand cleaning.
  • Remove waste and dispose of it in the appropriate containers.
  • Return tables, mats, hoses, and cleaning equipment to proper locations.
  • Follow standard work instructions and verify work using checklists.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
