About The Position

Join Daily's Premium Meats as a Sanitation Technician Lead responsible for nightly plant sanitation. This role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing packaging equipment and surfaces, requiring physical stamina to work on concrete floors and lift up to 50 pounds. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable in a cold/wet environment and able to perform manual labor. The Sanitation Lead will also be responsible for guiding and training other team members and serving as a resource and mentor for the team. Requirements

  • Must be able to bend/lift up to 25 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a cold/wet environment at an average temperature of 42 degrees and perform hard, manual labor for an eight-hour shift.
  • You must complete all required Safety, Chemical, and Lock Out Tag Out training certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and management.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and instruct employees on the Sanitation shift.
  • Be responsible for specific areas, employees, and tasks.
  • Clean and sanitize processing equipment, production areas, and surfaces according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform daily duties such as mopping, scrubbing, and drying equipment and facilities, navigating around machine belts, chains, conveyors, and other systems as needed.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for thorough cleaning, ensuring proper sanitation.
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents safely and apply them effectively.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and functionality, reporting issues for timely repair.
  • Manage waste disposal following company policies and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Working in the Sanitation/Clean-up Department you are responsible for nightly sanitation of the entire plant, with primary focus being the cleaning and sanitizing of all machines, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Position requires applicants to be physically capable of standing/walking 100% of the shift on concrete flooring.
  • Must be able to bend/lift up to 25 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a cold/wet environment at an average temperature of 42 degrees and perform hard, manual labor for an eight-hour shift.
