The Sanitation Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily tasks of the sanitation team members ensuring that equipment and premises are being cleaned and sanitized according to specifications and the Sanitation Master Schedule. The Sanitation Lead coordinates activities and provides coaching, training, and guidance to workers on the Sanitation team. The Sanitation Lead works alongside the team, stepping in as needed to ensure maximum productivity. Duties and Responsibilities : Food Safety & Safety: Always perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards. Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies and trainings related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations (e.g., HACCP, Food Safety, GMP’s, Food Fraud/Defense, Allergens, Organic, Gluten Free). Assigns daily tasks to each sanitation technician according to the rotation schedule. Assigns the Master Sanitation Schedule tasks to each sanitation worker and verifies completion- requirements of master cleaning schedule. Ensures that each task is performed adequately and on time. Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures for dismantling and assembling equipment parts that need to be cleaned. Prepares daily report of activities done by the group according to production schedule. Informs supervisor of all cleaning material requirements and supply inventory. Conducts trainings and enforces safety policies and procedures. Reports and/or corrects all safety hazards immediately. Conducts chemical titration and chemical inventory of daily use. Enforces compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Precautions. Monitors and prepares a report on the daily attendance and punctuality of each sanitation worker. Reports all personnel-related concerns to the supervisor. Conducts training and clearly instructs all employees of expectations. Must know the type of chemical that is used for each specific task when cleaning. All chemicals must be properly identified. On occasions can be asked to clean specific equipment at management discretion. Must use Personal Protective Equipment at all times and enforce the use of such with the sanitation employees. PPE includes safety glasses, hairnets, apron, gloves and boots. Enforces company rules, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as may be assigned as the need arises. Responsible for following and complying with all SQF requirements. Maintains workstations per SQF guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
