The Sanitation Janitor Team Lead is responsible for strategic oversight and hands-on execution of all sanitation and janitorial operations to ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and full compliance with company standards, health regulations, and safety protocols. This critical role involves leading, training, and motivating the sanitation team while implementing quality control measures to maintain a safe and compliant production environment. Key responsibilities include enforcing strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting regular facility audits, managing inventory, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to support production efficiency and a healthy workplace

  • Directly lead and coordinate sanitation and janitorial staff during assigned shifts.
  • Clean and sanitize production rooms.
  • Perform daily janitorial tasks, such as restrooms, breakrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal.
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members in sanitation best practices.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to GMP, OSHA, FDA, and safety standards.
  • Conduct shift handovers and verify completion of critical cleaning tasks and documentation.
  • Perform Titration of chemicals and record the findings and corrective actions.
  • Report any equipment in damage or needed to the sanitation manager.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, resolving sanitation-related issues, and ensuring safe chemical handling and equipment use.
  • The Team Lead supports continuous improvement efforts while fostering teamwork and accountability.
  • Complete daily reports and conduct audits assigned by the Sanitation Manager.
  • Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-month leadership experience in a related field, sanitation, janitorial, or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of chemical safety and proper PPE use.
  • Must be able to perform basic math.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers and departments, including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to perform physical and mental work requirements of position.
  • Experience with GMP, OSHA, USDA is preferred.
