About The Position

TalentFish is casting a line for a Sample Management & Lab Support Specialist. This role exists to ensure the efficient handling, tracking, and coordination of samples throughout the full lifecycle, from receipt through testing and final disposition. You will play a critical role in supporting laboratory operations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with established processes while collaborating closely with internal teams.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team
  • Strong reading comprehension and ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Familiarity with sorting, filing, and record management practices
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing 25–50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, walking, and shelving
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks including lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, walking, sorting, and filing
  • Ability to perform filing activities involving storage on upper shelves
  • Comfortable with light computer-based research tasks
  • This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.

  • Understanding of quality processes and regulatory standards is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage samples from receipt through internal distribution, testing coordination, and final disposition using database systems and Microsoft tools
  • Verify samples against requirements and escalate discrepancies to the project team
  • Ensure all sample handling aligns with quality standards and accreditation requirements
  • Coordinate with laboratory, engineering, and shipping/receiving teams to ensure samples are test-ready and properly stored
  • Maintain accurate records and support reporting and metric development as needed
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders via phone and email regarding sample status and returns
  • Conduct inventory checks of sample storage areas and resolve discrepancies (lost, missing, or damaged samples)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including potential warehouse support responsibilities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across processes and workflows
  • Assist in training staff and contributing to training material development as needed
  • Follow all company code of conduct, safety, and security protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
