About The Position

The Salesforce Administrator/Developer I proactively monitors and supports all aspects of our Salesforce platform while helping develop solutions that best fit Vanguard Charitable’s business needs and spread best practices with users. Serves as a change agent by supporting adoption of the platform that is integral to our company's operations. The Salesforce Administrator/Developer I is expected to learn all aspects of the Vanguard Charitable Salesforce configuration/development, make changes, be able and willing to delve into customization, understand the marketplace for third-party applications, and support business initiatives with optimized reporting and dashboards. In addition, this individual identifies new and creative opportunities to leverage Salesforce.com to support additional business processes or functions, enjoys working with end users to support adoption of best practices, and is motivated, team oriented, passionate about Salesforce technology and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience. Prior Salesforce experience required. Experience in an agile environment preferred.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • An eagerness to support business processes with technological solutions.
  • Detail oriented, organized, timely, dependable, articulate and collegial.
  • Produces high quality work under minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of Salesforce.com (Sales, Service, and Experience Cloud) technical requirements, including APIs (REST/SOAP/Metadata, etc) and system configuration, user requirements and all related policies and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of sales, service and marketing analytics, including reporting on territory and pipeline health, campaign effectiveness, and data quality metrics in a multi-channel environment.
  • Knowledge of databases and proficiency in data manipulation and cleaning. Experience with Dataloader or Data Import Wizard preferred.
  • Experience with custom reporting, modifying pages, views and dashboards.
  • Experience working with workflows and triggers to automate tasks.
  • Experience with Lightning applications and development.
  • Experience working with Salesforce Communities.
  • Experience working with Pardot or Marketing Cloud preferred.
  • Analytical skills and experience with the complete lifecycle of complex enterprise projects; understanding of core project management concepts, theories, practices, and methods.
  • Experience contributing to requirements gathering sessions and documenting the outcome, including designing process flows and helping define test scripts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to manage work, conflicts, deadlines, and priorities
  • Salesforce Administrator and developer certifications achieved within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manages security, users, roles, profiles, groups, queues, sharing rules and other setup options. Supports requests, assists with larger builds, and focuses on the day-to-day maintenance of the platform.
  • Develops reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality and integrity, and provides the management team with Salesforce reports and dashboards across all business units. Recommends configuration changes, new fields or additional reporting to meet business needs.
  • Provides technical support, training and backup for users.
  • Shares best practices with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support and contributes to the knowledge base.
  • Develops, implements, and manages capabilities on the Salesforce platform. Identifies deliverables, milestones, and tasks to deliver new and maintain existing capabilities. Plans and integrates schedule, resources, and deliverables. Ensures capabilities are aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Helps facilitate sessions with the business to gather, define, and document business requirements to be implemented on Salesforce.
  • Configures Salesforce Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds to meet business needs (in collaboration with internal and external resources).
  • Supports marketing team with Pardot processes and integrations.
  • Recommends, documents and implements configuration changes and data-mapping requirements to support integrations.
  • Develops project-level business-specific approaches and plans for testing, training, communicating, rolling out, and offering post-production support. Facilitates Salesforce user training and upskilling sessions.
  • Supports the process to deploy updates, enhancements, and new system functionality including the creation of custom objects, custom formulas, scalable triggers, and workflows.
  • Helps define and support release updates for existing applications, maintain a backlog of user requests for enhancements, new requirements, or issue resolution, assess and prioritize backlog items and deploys updates using agile methodology, and manage vendor releases and determine impacts of new or retiring functionality and appropriate actions to ensure system functionality.
  • Provides technical support, training and backup for users. Shares best practices with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support and contributes to the knowledge base.
  • Supports management of other vendors or sites (e.g. DonorSearch, Inbox for Outlook, DataLoader) that are connected to Salesforce. Evaluates additional third-party application requested through work ordering.
  • Translates business requirements into well-architected, custom solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform including the use of Apex, Lightning Web Components and Visual Force
  • Contributes to technical design sessions to develop the best technical solution aligned with the business objectives
  • Partners with off-shore developers to ensure cross-system collaboration
  • Supports marketing team with Pardot processes and integrations by supporting field mapping additions, any mapping from Pardot to Salesforce, fixing forms that go on the public web, assisting with new integrations, monitoring sync errors, and report creation.
  • Achieves and maintains Salesforce product certifications to successfully advise business of best practices for both business process and platform optimization.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
