Position Summary As Sales Support, you'll be part of our Centralized Customer Operations Team, providing top-level support to key customer accounts. You’ll play a vital role in delivering excellent service by managing orders, resolving issues, and partnering with sales teams and internal departments to ensure a smooth customer experience.

Requirements

  • Communicate exceptionally well—strong verbal and written skills with active listening and a customer-first mindset.

  • Are organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapt quickly, embrace new technology, and adjust smoothly to change.
  • Work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Bring at least 2 years of customer service and/or sales experience
  • Are proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office; construction knowledge is helpful.
  • Can occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Manage key customer accounts and support sales associates to ensure accurate order placement and timely follow-up.
  • Oversee the full order-to-fulfillment cycle, including freight and logistics, while resolving exceptions such as credit holds or inventory constraints.
  • Partner with Credit, Inventory, Purchasing, Accounts Receivable, Supply Chain, and Branch Managers to provide complete customer solutions.
  • Communicate with customers via phone and email—with future opportunities to support text and web-chat communication.
  • Handle customer service activities such as returns, invoicing, billing, backorders, and claims.
  • Support digital onboarding of customers onto our B2B platform.
  • Execute outbound calls for promotions or special projects.
  • Develop strong knowledge of SouthernCarlson’s product offerings to recommend solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve customer experience.
