The Sales Support Associate plays a vital dual role, supporting both the sales team and retail operations. This involves assisting Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs) with customer accounts and orders, as well as helping retail customers by providing expert advice on building materials and facilitating purchases. The position is key to driving sales growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and creating a positive shopping experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to assess situations, prioritize tasks, and make timely decisions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Comfortable using office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, copiers, etc.
  • Professional, timely, and considerate with excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to operate and manage a cash register accurately and process large amounts of information.
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive, reliable, and flexible.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in construction or construction sales is a plus.
  • Experience with Sales Processes or Administration.
  • Familiarity with BizTrack is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations including ordering, stocking, merchandising, and inventory control.
  • Input orders and quote material lists accurately.
  • Assist customers with product selection and provide excellent service.
  • Write tickets for stock and special orders.
  • Work closely with outside sales staff and support their accounts.
  • Monitor open orders and ensure timely completion.
  • Set up loads with dispatch and coordinate deliveries and credit pick-ups.
  • Process confirmations, invoices, and credits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized sales floor.
  • Operate cash register accurately.
