Position Overview The Sales Specialist is responsible for prospecting, qualifying, and closing residential and light commercial opportunities while operating as a team player and modeling adaptability . You will be trained in the Cornett way and held to clear sales targets and goals . This role blends office time (training, CRM discipline, proposal building) with field activity (site visits, inspections, customer presentations, and ride-alongs). Not a short-term sales gig. This is a long-term professional path for those ready to immerse themselves in Cornett’s systems, standards, and culture—and leverage our manufacturing advantage to deliver better outcomes for customers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional sales experience (home services, construction, building materials, or similar preferred)
  • Demonstrated team orientation , adaptability , and coachability
  • Clear record of accountability to goals/quotas and consistent follow-through
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and ethical selling practices
  • Proficiency with CRM, email, and presentation tools; valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge of roofing/building components
  • Understanding of pricing and margin fundamentals
  • Experience building quotes and professional proposals
  • Estimating (residential or light commercial)

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline & Activity Management: Maintain a healthy pipeline; execute daily/weekly activity targets (appointments, demos, follow-ups).
  • Customer Consultations: Conduct needs assessments, on-site evaluations, and solution presentations aligned with Cornett standards.
  • Proposal & Closing: Build accurate proposals, present options, handle objections, and close with professionalism and integrity.
  • Training & Coaching: Embrace continuous training, ride-alongs, and refreshers to master the Cornett Sales System and our manufacturing-backed differentiators.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with Marketing (lead quality/feedback) and Operations/Production (handoff accuracy, scope clarity) to ensure seamless delivery.
  • CRM Discipline: Maintain accurate records (notes, stages, next steps) and reliable forecasts.
