This Position reports to: Sales Manager In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. The work model for the role is: hybrid (#Li-Hybrid) in Houston, TX. As an OEM Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing multiple account strategies focused on growth, profitability and customer satisfaction while coordinating all sales activities and managing resolution of customer problems. Responsibilities include assisting with project quotations, order management, customer training and demand generation to position ABB as the preferred vendor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with 10+ years of related experience, including work with OEM customers and channel partners; Six Sigma or equivalent quality training preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the electrical industry and ABB products, with strong technical application, take‑off, and proposal development skills.
  • Proven experience with complex contract negotiations, supported by strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Customer‑focused mindset, with the ability to respond quickly to customer needs and proactively support assigned accounts through regular in‑district business travel.
  • Strong analytical and technical aptitude, including the ability to effectively utilize analytical software, CRM systems, and sales tools.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interface for OEM accounts, developing and executing account strategies that drive market share, margin, customer satisfaction, and long‑term growth, including opportunity prioritization, sales target development, and structured follow‑up.
  • Build and expand OEM relationships and pipeline, identifying and securing new customers through webinars, networking, cold calling, and cross‑functional leads, while leading customer negotiations and proposing recovery plans to address potential order shortfalls.
  • Lead customer enablement and value creation efforts, developing and implementing account training plans, coordinating cross‑selling opportunities, simplifying how customers do business with ABB, and acting as the focal point for problem resolution and customer claims.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to drive strategic insights and execution, maintaining deep knowledge of customer businesses, market trends, and competitive activity, while communicating market feedback, competitive intelligence, and performance metrics to internal stakeholders.
