Role Overview: As an Account Manager, Midwest Region, you will be responsible for developing and maximizing Sweetener Ingredient sales volume and margins through detailed planned sales coverage at existing and prospective accounts. The Sr. Account Manager will call on accounts with a focus on strengthening relationships and improving market share. As a member of the Go-to-Market team, the Sr. Account Manager will optimize profitability and grow sales of Ingredion’s diverse Sweetener Portfolio into accounts spanning across all categories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Food Science, Chemical Engineering) or business.
  • 5+ years of direct or technical sales experience, preferably in food and beverage.
  • Proven track record managing complex accounts and delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic account plans to create long-term value for customers, including objectives, milestones, and opportunities.
  • Build strong multi-level relationships to drive growth and address challenges.
  • Collaborate with Technical Service, Marketing, Product Managers, Finance, and other stakeholders to increase share of wallet and profitability.
  • Conduct market analysis, understand trends, and competitive pricing.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage proposals and RFPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activity and reporting.
