About The Position

Are you a construction-savvy sales professional who takes pride in honest, straightforward work? J.A.G. & Sons Overhead Door is a trusted residential garage door company serving West Haven and the surrounding Connecticut communities. We're growing, and we're looking for the right person to grow with us — someone who knows the trades, understands homeowners, and can close deals without the gimmicks. Schedule & Flexibility This is primarily an in-person, in-office role — you'll need to be on-site to build proposals, complete training, and collaborate with the team. That said, we understand the nature of sales. Your schedule will have built-in flexibility week to week, and you'll have real input into your office hours to accommodate client meetings, networking opportunities, and site visits when needed. What You'll Be Doing Actively prospecting and developing new business — identifying and building relationships with potential referral partners, including contractors, builders, realtors, and property managers, to generate a consistent pipeline of new revenue Networking within the local community and trades industry to position J.A.G. & Sons as the go-to residential garage door company in the region Meeting with residential clients to assess their garage door needs and develop accurate, professional proposals Conducting job site visits, taking measurements, and documenting projects using app-based field management software Following up on leads, managing your sales pipeline, and maintaining clear communication with clients from first contact to closed deal Completing in-office work, including proposals, follow-ups, and ongoing training Occasionally, meeting clients during evenings or weekends to accommodate their schedules Representing J.A.G. & Sons with professionalism, integrity, and genuine expertise What We're Looking For This role is NOT for you if: You're not comfortable getting your hands a little dirty on a job site You prefer a rigid 9-to-5 with no flexibility or ownership over your schedule You wait for the phone to ring instead of going out and making things happen This role IS for you if: You have solid knowledge of basic building construction and framing You have a background selling in the trades — HVAC, plumbing, windows, roofing, siding, or similar industries You're approachable, down-to-earth, and the kind of person homeowners and industry partners trust immediately You're a self-starter who knows how to open doors — literally and figuratively — and build lasting business relationships You're hungry to earn and confident in a commission-based structure You're thorough, detail-oriented, and take pride in getting things right the first time You're comfortable with a tape measure and technology, including mobile apps for estimates and job site documentation

Requirements
