About The Position

ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in door opening solutions, dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and accessible building environment. They offer products and services related to locks, doors, gates, and entrance automation, including access control and identity verification systems. This Architectural Consultant position involves working closely with architectural professionals to advise on the design and specification of door openings, utilizing Openings Studio BIM software. The role focuses on driving positive relationships with key influencers, creating brand demand through education and promotion of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, and being part of a diverse and talented sales team.

  • Ability to visit, on occasion, factory assembly floors as part of customer experiences.
  • Ability to attend and participate in all-day, internal, collaborative sales meetings in a dynamic, open workspace.
  • College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: architectural, design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • At least 2-3 years’ industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management (will be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key architectural, design, and engineering firms that work on institutional project types tied to core vertical markets including Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 Education, and Government markets.
  • Cultivate consulting relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
  • Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
  • Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications.
  • Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
  • Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking and time management tool.
  • Work alongside a committed team of professional consultants focused on providing specification support and services to architectural firms.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education, specification, client satisfaction and technical support needs.
  • Be responsible for architectural development, project tracking and ultimately gaining approval for the internal team of writers to prepare Division 08 door and hardware specification documents.
  • Promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.
