This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 26th 2026 or June 22nd 2026 Location: On-site (5 days a week) at Headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA Our Team's Vision: Our Finance team operates at the forefront of Zero Trust Segmentation, driving efficient growth and strategic partnerships with our key stakeholders. We are dedicated to building scalable infrastructure and optimizing our financial model to support Illumio’s ambitious business goals. The Sales Operations Intern will work cross-functionally with internal teams at Illumio (including sales, marketing, operations, finance, and support) to help the organization make data-informed operating decisions. You will be anchored on a core project focused on applying AI and data research to help automate account segmentation (e.g., defining segments, testing approaches, and sharing recommendations). In addition, you will gain exposure to our sales tool stack and contribute by assisting with process improvements, basic automation, data hygiene, reporting, and program support. The ideal candidate is interested in sales operations, business analytics, or revenue operations, and is excited to learn how a high-growth organization runs its lead-to-cash process.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (junior/senior preferred) in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Available to participate in a full-time, paid 12-week internship program with an onsite schedule of four days per week and remote work on Fridays
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with pivots, lookups, or basic data analysis is a plus
  • Interest in AI, data research, and analytics
  • Interest in learning Salesforce.com (prior exposure is a plus but not required)
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and ask thoughtful questions
  • Comfortable approaching problems with a process-improvement mindset and proposing practical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and interest in working with data
  • Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to jump in and help the team

Responsibilities

  • Own a project to help automate account segmentation using AI and data research by partnering with stakeholders to define the problem, identify inputs, and deliver a clear recommendation and/or prototype
  • Support segmentation analysis and experimentation by exploring data, proposing features, comparing approaches (e.g., rules-based vs. ML), and documenting results and learnings
  • Help operationalize the segmentation output by defining how it will be used (e.g., routing, prioritization, reporting), preparing documentation, and supporting a handoff plan to Sales Operations
  • Assist with territory and account management activities, such as aligning accounts and opportunities with sales representatives
  • Assist with Salesforce.com data quality efforts by auditing records, following data standards, and escalating issues as needed
  • Build and refresh basic reports and dashboards, and help summarize insights for stakeholders
  • Learn forecasting workflows and support weekly processes (e.g., validations, submissions) in tools such as Clari
  • Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, and training materials as you learn the business
