About The Position

The Sales Planning and Strategy Team’s mandate is to partner cross-functionally to realize growing revenue targets, to scale the organization sustainably, and to address new go-to-market opportunities and challenges. We are responsible for developing Samsara’s multi-year strategy and detailed plan to achieve our revenue growth targets in close collaboration with Finance, Product, and Marketing. We also work with Sales Operations and Strategy to execute our plans in-year and drive strategic initiatives to support Samsara’s profitable growth. The Sales Planning and Strategy team is looking for an intellectually curious, motivated, and high-impact team member to join our team. This role will support building the multi-year plan to achieve our ambitious growth targets, drive analysis to deeply understand our Sales team performance, and manage strategic projects in partnership with our Sales leaders. We are a highly collaborative team and seek to have an outsized impact on Samsara through high-quality output, teaming across functions and hierarchies, and commitment to ongoing skill development. This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in Consulting, Finance, Business Operations, Sales Strategy & Operations or other analytical role
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills; a deep sense of curiosity
  • Collaborative orientation and experience in building trusting relationships and influencing others (incl. executive audiences)
  • Self-starter who thrives and can multitask in fast-paced and often ambiguous environments; enthusiastic about improving efficiencies. Bias for action.
  • Strong presentation skills, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing, comfortable in business and technical discussions.
  • Ability to synthesize a broad set of information into a cohesive narrative
  • Expertise with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, Google Sheets)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with big data tools (e.g., DataBricks, BigQuery, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with GTM strategy

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic planning initiatives to support Samsara’s long-term growth in partnership with Sales Leadership, Business Operations, Sales Operations, Finance, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams
  • Develop insights and own analytical models that inform long-term and annual planning
  • Guide Sales leaders through planning and strategic project outputs, incorporating their feedback, and guiding execution
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, analyses, and talking points as part of planning and strategic project work
  • Collaborate across Samsara, building trusted relationships across organizations and functions to create “connective tissue” between cross-functional teams
  • Identify risks to growth goals and develop action plans to mitigate those risks
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally
